Micro Mass Migration: A Farewell Party for the Paper Mache Flora and Fauna at PPL

Saturday, November 23, 1 – 3pm: Join us and artist Eli Nixon for a farewell party to honor Bloodtide, the 450-million-year timeline of paper mache flora and fauna, in its next evolutionary cycle!

PPL, ACT and Eli invite you to participate in the kick-off of a micro mass migration towards relocating the 62 organisms making up the 450-million-year timeline that has been living in the PPL stairwell since 2021. This event will be an opportunity to think together about migration, evolution, and imagination as we celebrate the 300+ modern humans who created the paper mâché flora and fauna (mostly out of recyclables!). At this farewell-stairwell extravaganza, partygoers will be invited to engage in get-to-know-you activities through interspecies-match making efforts that will help us find the best next habitat for each of these community-made creatures. By the end of the event, you’ll be able to submit your request to home an organism, and by the first week of December the organisms will begin their Micro Mass Migration, leaving PPL forever as they move out and on…maybe an axolotl or walrus is your next housemate?!

Download the Bloodtide Organism Look Book  to learn more about each one of the 63 organisms looking for their next home.
