Announcing the City of Providence Cultural Facilities Improvement Grants
The City of Providence’s Department of Art, Culture and Tourism (ACT) is proud to announce a new grant program to support improvements in cultural facilities in Providence, Cultural Facilities Improvement Grants.
Funded through an allocation of CIP (Capital Improvement Project) Funds, the Department of Art, Culture and Tourism will distribute $700k in grant funding over the next two years to eligible non-profit organizations with public venues in Providence dedicated to showcasing or teaching performance, visual art, writing, music, and dance. By investing a portion of 2020 and 2025 CIP bonds in the spaces where artists and audiences meet, we aim to strengthen not only our arts organizations, but the facilities where art is made and experienced.
With two years of bond funding allocated, ACT will distribute $350k in FY27 and $350k in FY28 to eligible applicants through a competitive process. The FY27 grants open on October 16 with an infosession on-line on October 30 at 12pm (email Deputy Director Rebecca Noon rnoon@providenceri.gov for the link). The infosession will be recorded and available on our website by November 2. Applications close November 16. You can read more about the timeline, eligibility requirements and apply here.
