OFFICIAL LAUNCH

Turnaround Arts: Providence has officially launched in all of our participating Providence Middle Schools – DelSesto, Gilbert Stuart, and Roger Williams!

For the last 3 weeks our teachers have engaged in arts-based learning strategies through observing art and artifacts at the RISD Museum, Tableau training at Trinity Repertory Company and Caribbean steel pan history lessons with instrumentalist and Providence artist Becky Bass.

This fall teachers will engage in the Visual Thinking Strategies an approach that transforms the way students think and learn through teacher led facilitation of visual arts to increase student engagement, and performance.  Stay tuned for info about our visiting national artists: Valerie June, Ben Folds and Jamie Luis Gomes (Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas)!
